Electrocardiogram (ECG) – NOT AVAILABLE AT THE MOMENT
ECG records the electrical activity of the heart necessary for its contractions. To achieve the latter, ten electrodes are placed on the patient: four at the level of the ankles and wrists, and six at the level of the chest.
The electrocardiogram immediately provides information concerning the patient’s heart health. It is used for various reasons:
– Prevention (health check prior to a major surgery and anyone getting a surgery after 40 years old).
– Chest pain.
– Some cardiovascular diseases (myocardial infarction, hypertension…).
This medical examination has the advantage of being safe, painless, and fast, since it only takes ten minutes to get the results and the suspected diagnosis by the doctor.
The result appears on a paper strip and is immediately interpretable.
