Nose and Sinus
The nasal cavity are two air-filled cavities. These two cavities are separated by a thin central partition (the nasal septum) made in part by bone and by cartilage. In the nasal cavities, three sided turbinates are found, offering resistance to the breathed air and direct it toward the olfactory epithelium at the top. The paranasal sinuses are connected to the nasal cavity through small orifices.
The main symptoms of nasal sinus diseases are: headache, fatigue, a high sensitivity level which is increased especially by leaning the head. The pain may be localized and varies in intensity depending on the affected sinus. The patient with a nasal and sinus problem also complains of nasal obstruction, nasal secretions through the nose or back to the rear of the mouth, cough and sometimes fever (especially children).
