Saliva Test

Dry mouth or lack of saliva is a common consultation reason. Xerostomia is the subjective lack of saliva and hyposialia is the objective decrease in volume of saliva produced by the patient.

Saliva is produced by the minor salivary glands and the main salivary gland (parotid and submandibular) when stimulated during food.
