Surgeries under local anesthesia

At the Polyclinique Centre-Ville some surgeries are performed under local anesthesia. The anesthesia is achieved by using a very fine needle. The patient, child or adult, feels that the surgeon is operating but he does not feel pain.

Ear Surgeries:

1. Myringotomy + insertion of a transtympanic tube
2. Long term subcutaneous tube
3. Tympanoplasty or myringoplasty
4. Perilymphatic fistula surgery
5. Ossicular reconstruction
6. Stapedectomy

Surgeries of the head and neck:

1. Section of the tongue frenulum (the frenectomy)
2. Lesion excision of the face or in the oral cavity
3. Excision of lithiasis (stone) in the salivary glands canal.
