    At the Polyclinique Centre-Ville, several evaluation and rehabilitation services are offered. All evaluation and rehabilitation services are performed by a qualified, expert audiologist and member of the Ordre des Orthophonistes et Audiologiste du Québec.
    At the Polyclinique Centre-Ville, we strongly insists that an expert – Audiologist – and not a technician performed your audiograms.

    Here are the different services offered:

    • Audiogram
      • 6 months to 4 years (2 Audiologists)
      • 4 years and over (1 audiologist)
    • Hearing screening for newborns
      • 0 to 6 months (1 audiologist)
      • This objective test evaluates your child’s level of hearing. This test is quick and painless through sounds of comfortable intensity transmitted into your child’s ear. It requires no response from your child and is ideal when he is asleep.
    • Tympanogram
      • This test evaluates the integrity of the eardrum and middle ear. It is fast and allows specifying several types of problems (ex: tympanic perforation, otitis, etc.). Unless contraindications, this test is one part of audiogram assessments.
    • Otoacoustic emission (OAE)
      • This test measures objectively the function of specific cells of your inner ear and eliminates or confirms a hearing impairment. This test requires no response on your part, is painless and quick.
    • Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR)
      • This evaluation aims to measure the function of the auditory nerve and brainstem. This test records the neural response through electrodes once exposed to sounds. During this test, patients are comfortably seated in an armchair and no response on your part is needed.
    • Electrocochleography (ECoG)
      • This test aims to objectively determine the function of the inner ear. The response of your inner ear is recorded through electrodes after being exposed to sounds. It is highly used in Ménière’s disease.
