Cervical dizziness

Cervical dizziness is equivalent to Cervicogenic dizziness or imbalance of cervical origin. Patients suffer from an imbalance, disequilibrium or lightheadedness. Symptoms are constantly present that worsen with head movements. It is never a rotary vertigo. It should not be confused with positional vertigo where the patient reports rotary movements.

In history of the disease there is often a medical report of neck trauma or a whiplash that occurred, even in several years earlier. The majorities of patients have a desk job and spend many hours at the computer.

During the medical examination pain is triggered on palpation of the paravertebral muscles between the first and fourth cervical vertebra. The imbalance occurs through spino-vestibular reflex.

The ENT specialized in neurotology sets the diagnosis and asks for the proper tests.

Thereafter, treatment will be offered.

At the Polyclinique Centre-Ville a full support of cervical dizziness imbalance is offered.
