Vertebrobasilar insufficiency and imbalance
The patient presents with short-term, acute imbalance or dizziness triggered by head movements. It is reminiscent of a BPPV but the Dix-Hallpike test is negative. These are patients who have at least three risk factors for atherosclerosis. A vertebrobasilar angio-scan shows bilateral involvement of the vertebral arteries. Appropriate treatment will be prescribed to these patients.
